Dallas Art Fair and DMA Shows Define Spring Visual Arts Season
Exhibitions at the Fashion Industry Gallery and Dallas Museum of Art draw attention to local and international work this season.
How we reported this

The Dallas Art Fair opens April 11 at the Fashion Industry Gallery on Ross Avenue with 90 exhibitors, including first-time participants Koki Arts from Tokyo and LBF Contemporary from London alongside established names such as Perrotin.
Aurora Video Art Night Offers Free Entry Point
Aurora stages its Video Art Night the same evening from 6 to 10 p.m. on a large screen in a downtown spot still to be announced. The event runs during Dallas Art Fair week and costs nothing, giving residents an easy way to sample moving-image pieces from regional artists before or after visiting the main fair.
The timing matters because spring brings milder weather and the annual fair season that pulls collectors, curators and casual viewers into the same orbit. Local galleries and museums time major presentations to coincide with the influx of visitors, turning a single weekend into a citywide circuit.
Marisol Retrospective Opens at Dallas Museum of Art
The Dallas Museum of Art begins its Marisol retrospective on February 23 and keeps it on view through July 6. The show assembles the largest collection yet of work by Marisol Escobar, featuring sculptural self-portraits alongside pieces that address environmental concerns, social justice, feminism and war.
One sculpture on display elsewhere in the region is Josh Kline’s 3D-printed acrylic piece titled “Unemployed Journalist (Dave),” which has already circulated through local venues and underscores the fair’s mix of contemporary voices.
Complementing the main fair, the Dallas Invitational runs April 10 through 12 on the first floor of the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek at 2821 Turtle Creek Blvd. That smaller gathering sits a short drive from the central fair site and gives viewers another concentrated stop without leaving the immediate area.
Residents can mark the dates on their calendars now. The Aurora event requires no ticket, the Dallas Art Fair runs through April 13, and the DMA show remains open into summer, allowing multiple visits spread across weeks rather than a single rushed trip.
